The Emulator/Simulator (EM/SIM) is an interactive touch screen, input driven simulation training system that is used to train Surveillance Technicians in the Control and Reporting Center (CRC), a key capability within the Ground Theater Air Control System (GTACS).
The EM/SIM is located at the 607th Air Control Squadron on Luke AFB. It consists of 42 individual stations and has the capability of linking eight stations into one training mission. Each training mission is controlled by the instructor, who has the ability to make on the spot mission change input to the simulation scenario. This provides each student with a realistic training environment.
All training missions were developed in conjunction with instructors and combat experienced professionals to bring the most dynamic and realistic scenarios to a training environment.
EBS maintains and modernizes the technologies within the EM/SIM, such as Intelligent Agents, use of Joint Semi-Automated Force (JSAF) simulation, Instructor and System Administrator interfaces. |
